Tashkent's Best Day Trip: Chimgan Mountains & Charvak Reservoir
Just 80 km northeast of Tashkent, the Chimgan Mountains rise sharply from the Bostanlyk valley into the Tian Shan foothills — a dramatic landscape of glacier-fed rivers, alpine meadows, and rocky peaks reaching 3,309 m at Katta Chimgan. En route, the turquoise waters of Charvak Reservoir stretch across a valley ringed by wooded ridges, creating one of the most scenic drives in Uzbekistan.
This day trip combines both highlights. In summer, stop at Charvak Lake for photos and a walk, then drive up to Chimgan village for mountain hiking, a cable car ride, and lunch with panoramic views. In winter, the focus shifts to the Amirsoy ski resort — a modern mountain complex with a 3.5 km gondola and groomed pistes opened in 2019, the best skiing in Central Asia.
Jahongir Travel provides private transport from your Tashkent hotel, a certified English-speaking guide, and flexible timing to suit your group. No shared buses, no set schedules.

Summer vs Winter: What to Expect
Summer (May–October): Green valley, wildflowers in June, Charvak Lake warm enough to swim (July–August). Hiking trails to mountain viewpoints, horse riding available, cable car and Amirsoy gondola both operating.
Winter (December–March): Amirsoy resort is open with gondola, T-bar lifts, and groomed runs from beginner to advanced. Snow-covered valley scenery is spectacular. Bring warm, waterproof clothing.
